TOKYO, Japan, July 25, 2003 --
Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857, NYSE: ATE) announced
today the release of its R3770 and R3768 Network
Analyzers for use in the development and production of
the high-frequency electronic components used in mobile
communication networks and wireless LANs. These two new
models offer an industry-leading measurement speed of 5
microseconds per point - a two-fold improvement over the
company's previous offerings that will help to
significantly boost manufacturing throughput.
In
the ongoing evolution toward broadband networks and
pervasive computing, the use of mobile phones and
wireless LANs are becoming increasingly popular both at
home and at the office. Due to the finite nature of the
radio spectrum, however, to accommodate the accompanying
growth in data traffic, new, more stringent
telecommunication specifications are emerging to ensure
the efficient use of radio-frequency (RF) bands. When
working to develop and manufacture the high-end RF
components necessary for use in advanced wireless
communication systems, companies must therefore work to
ensure that their products comply with these strict
specifications, while at the same time boosting their
testing throughput.
To expedite the design and
production of components for wireless communications,
the new R3770 and R3768 Network Analyzers provide an
industry best measuring speed of 5 microseconds per
point. With a wide dynamic range of 125dB, these
analyzers can be used to accurately and reliably measure
high-frequency electronic components such as the filters
used in mobile communication base stations, which need
to comply with precise specifications. Furthermore,
because the R3770 and R3768 were both built using
Advantest's Wizard of Module Test (WMT) modular
architecture, both instruments can be easily expanded to
include a maximum of four input/output
ports.
R3770 Network Analyzer With a
high frequency range of 300kHz to 20GHz, the R3770 is
best suited for characterization of the high-frequency
passive components used in wireless LANs and mobile
communication base stations.
R3768 Network
Analyzer With a frequency range of 300kHz to
8GHz, the R3768 is targeted for use in measuring cell
phone filters and other RF components that operate up to
the 8GHz band.
